Reevis Mountain School is comprised of a 12 acre in-holding near Roosevelt, Arizona. The land is nestled in a remote valley at 3,300 feet elevation in the Tonto National forest located in the eastern Superstition Wilderness.

Peter Bigfoot, Reevis's founder, has homesteaded here for close to 50 years and has provided a place of inspiration, peace, and reverence for nature, where students and interns can learn natural healing and self-reliance skills, experience growing their own food, develop spiritual awareness, enjoy a spirit of community, and live healthfully.

Lynx started her own journey of self-reliance here in the early 90’s and is thrilled to be coming back to teach at this transformative place from her past.

The farm consists of a large garden that produces year round, a flock of chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese, an orchard of a hundred fruit and nut trees, a grape vineyard, and a greenhouse garden, which all produce an abundance for the home and local community. The farm also has several beautiful stone buildings including a showerhouse with solar-heated water.

Students need to bring their own tents for camping or arrange accommodation with the school for an additional fee.

Here we have the opportunity to explore the desert and its bounty in the springtime. Skills will include:

Desert wild foods

Exploring the relics of the ancient ones

Small animal processing

Shelter

Natural pigments

Fire making

Local stone tools

Cordage and bindings
