Traveling through the Norwegian wilderness

“ Learning with a mixture of Stone Age, Iron Age and modern skills. Reading the signs of the landscape to build a comfortable and reciprocal relationship.”

  • Canoeing skills

  • Fire making

  • Reading the weather, water and land

  • Navigation

  • Fishing techniques

  • Fish skin tanning and sewing

  • Food preservation

  • Open fire cooking techniques

  • Knife, saw and axe use

  • Community and communication skills

We explore the wilderness around the new Living Wild school base, paddling the rivers and lakes and hiking on the edge of the tree-line.

The powerful bonds created in the group often remain for years. The connections made with the land and its non human inhabitants can shift and broaden one’s perspective in a profound manner. If you are ready to leap into an immersion and refine your skills while building community and working through the inevitable challenges that arise then this could be for you.

During these weeks we will become a small clan and find that there are many more secrets to unravel in community!

(Participants must be aged 12+ and be competent swimmers)

“I feel very grateful for our group. All groups have their own character and ours had a strong sense of collective responsibility and care. The community aspect in these kinds of courses might often be overlooked compared to class content but they are a really strong element of what doing an immersion means.” Ø K- March Mini Immersion 2024
